In 2008, Jane was looking for a creative hobby when daughter Lynne presented her with the idea of making mittens. After several trials, they succeeded in creating a pattern that they felt was the "perfect fit". This gave them the confidence to begin making and selling their unique mittens. What started out as a hobby eventually evolved into a small family-owned and operated business, the Asbury Mitten Company.

Our mission is to create exceptional, handcrafted products that are one-of-a-kind and original. The majority of the materials used in our products comes from re-purposed wool sweaters. We purchase as much of our raw materials as possible from local organizations. This helps to provide these organizations with financial support and also makes use of materials that might otherwise go to waste.

We truly enjoy the time, care, and creativity that it takes to craft each pair of our mittens and hope you are as excited when you receive them as we are when we create them.
